About

What To Expect

Worship services are focused on worship, not appearances. You may see the occasional tie but more often you'll see casual dress, such as business casual, coats, jeans, dresses, and slacks.  We are ordinary people who love the Lord and love to worship him. We enjoy fellowship so we encourage you to arrive early to meet, greet, and get to know others. You will find a welcoming atmosphere.  Music will consist of a mix of hymns, contemporary Christian, and praise and worship.  Brother Pace preaches a bible-based message with practical application to help you live out your faith during the week.  Services will usually include an altar call and prayer for anyone desiring prayer, whether for illness or other needs.  You’re welcome to hang out and fellowship with people afterwards.

For infants and toddlers we have a secure nursery area.  For children 3 years old through 5th grade, we have Children’s Church that includes music, games and a bible lesson taught at their level.  We encourage middle school and high school students, to join their parents in adult service.

Our Story

We are affiliated with the Church of God of Cleveland, TN, which was founded in 1886. The Muscle Shoals Church of God began as the Sheffield Church of God in the early 1950's in Sheffield, Alabama. It started in a small building on W10th St and from there moved to Atlanta Ave. In 1966 the church signed a contract for property in Muscle Shoals, AL, and in 1972 moved into the location it is in today. It is located centrally in the Shoals area, allowing it to serve and minister to families in the North Alabama area and portions of Tennessee.

The church has been blessed with faithful members who made this their home church. As our church has grown, so has our love for God and the people of the Shoals area.  We encourage our members to be the hands and feet of Jesus at work, in their neighborhoods, as a part of other Shoals community organizations and through partnerships with missions organizations around the world.

DECLARATION OF FAITH

We believe the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God.

We Believe:

In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.

In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.

That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgivenes of sins.

That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.

Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.

In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.

In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.

In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saints' feet.

In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.

In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
